Dear Friends,
Welcome to this week's edition of Cybercade! I hope you are all well.
If you're new here—Cybercade is your weekly game discovery newsletter. Each week, I curate upcoming releases, highlight unusual or promising projects, and round up interesting news.
This week we’re looking into 5 upcoming games across genres like Action, Adventure, Indie, and Strategy.
Let’s get to it.
| Upcoming Games
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny
Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny returns with higher-res visuals and updated controls. Unleash critical counterattacks with issen swordplay in this classic tale of vengeance set in feudal Japan. Every time I read feudal Japan, I think of the films of Akira Kurosawa and have correspondingly high expectations. I'm curious to see how this game will be received by players.
🧭 Genre: Action
📅 Release: 23 May, 2025 | 🎮 Developer: CAPCOM Co., Ltd.

Astrumis - Survive Together
One player is stranded on an abandoned spaceship. The other controls the ship itself. Together, you must survive a mysterious alien presence in this asymmetrical co-op horror experience. I like the idea and can well imagine that it will lead to a very intense gaming experience, especially when playing together.
🧭 Genre: Action, Adventure, Indie
📅 Release: 26 May, 2025 | 🎮 Developer: Tyci

As We Descend
Build a deck, recruit your army, and deploy them against horrifying enemies. In this card-based roguelike with tactical combat, every play can decide humanity’s fate. When I watched the trailer, the first thing that came to my mind was the old Battle Chess (if anyone remembers it). There is a demo available if you want to try it out.
🧭 Genre: Strategy
📅 Release: 28 May, 2025 | 🎮 Developer: Box Dragon
🔗 Steam Link: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1769830
Submersed 2 - The Hive
Submersed 2 is a first-person horror game set in the crushing depths of the Atlantic Ocean. Trapped in an underwater facility, you’ll face bio-organic horrors and isolation in equal measure. Who doesn't dream of being trapped at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean? It almost sounds like an adventure vacation.
🧭 Genre: Adventure, Indie
📅 Release: May 2025 | 🎮 Developer: Main Loop Videogames

Art of Blades
A hand-drawn hack-and-slash game inspired by Japanese manga and anime. Experience stylish combat in a top-down isometric world, blending fluid motion and bold aesthetics. I really like the hand-drawn comic book style and it fits well with the chosen player perspective.
🧭 Genre: Action, Adventure, Indie
📅 Release: May 2025 | 🎮 Developer: SamueleRS

Ravenous OST
To stay in the eerie mood of this week's horror picks, I recommend the Ravenous soundtrack. It's dark, tense, and weirdly catchy.
